EOC Leadership Team

Here is the EOC planning team for the 2024-2025 school year:

Remy Coombs

This is is my  fourteenth year in Lexington. I was born on Bogotá, Colombia. I've lived in New York, California, Rhode Island, and Washington, and I've been active in D.E.I. work since 1993.

Habiba Davis

I am known for my passion and commitment in working with youth, families, staff and communities in public school systems throughout Massachusetts.  I am a staunch advocate for marginalized youth…and working with teams to develop processes that help young people be successful in life.

I most importantly am a proud mother of twins who attended the Lexington Public School system.

Mayumi Kearns

Kindergarten Teacher at Bowman

A New England transplant from California, I've been teaching early childhood since 2004.  I am committed to equity and access for all students and believe that a diverse staff benefits everyone.

Lonamae Shand

6-8 English Learner Educator at Diamond Middle School.

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica. I am the proud mother of a wonderful teenage daughter.

Maggie Shih

School Counselor and Asian Student Union Co-Advisor at Lexington High School.  I am Korean-American and spent some of my childhood abroad attending an international school in Korea.

I have worked with the Asian community in various roles, including as a community organizer and social worker in school, court and hospital settings.  I have a special heart for international students and young people from immigrant and refugee backgrounds.

Yuiko Shimazu

K-5 ELL Teacher at Hastings.

I grew up in Japan, and Japanese is my first language. I am a member of Hasting's Equity Team.

Claudia Vanegas

This is my ninth year working at Lexington High School as a School Social Worker.

I graduated with a Master of Social Work degree from the School of Social Work at Boston University in 2002. Shortly after I obtained my LICSW, while working at a well-known hospital setting in this area. I have over 15+ years of working as a social worker in different settings in the Massachusetts area.

I was originally born in Colombia, South America, and came to the U.S. as a young child. My immigration experience prompted an interest in understanding and supporting people that have had to face and experience similar transitions. I speak, read, and write in Spanish.
