The East Texas Communities Foundation provides scholarship opportunities to local students. With both a universal application that automatically applies students to the local scholarships applicable to that student and stand-alone scholarships, the ETCF website is a GREAT resource for high school seniors in the East Texas area. The Travis Phillips Memorial Scholarship is a LOCAL scholarship. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2026. Scholarship applications can be found here, or printed copies can be found outside of Mrs. McClendon's office.
The Texas Gas Association Scholarship is open and available until February 27, 2026. TGA will award eight $5,000 scholarships to shape the future of the natural gas industry. Applications can be found here.
The Texas Telephone Association Foundation awards six, $2,000 scholarships per year to students entering college in the 26-27 school year. Scholarship applications are due by March 14, 2026 and can be found here. Paper copies can be found outside of Mrs. McClendon's office.
The Eastman Scholarship application must be completed online before January 31, 2026.
Eastman's Employee Resource Group (ERG) Scholarships are for the purpose of supporting local
students who are interested in pursuing degrees in the fields of operations, maintenance or
engineering. The scholarships will pay $2000. The number of scholarships will be determined each year by Eastman.
Selection will be based on but not limited to:
• Accuracy and thoroughness in completing the Scholarship Application
• Academic record, with at least an overall GPA of 3.0 (calculated on a 4-point scale)
• College & Career Plans Essay
• Culture of Inclusion Essay
• ERG specific Essays
• School activities and awards
• Extracurricular/Volunteer activities
• Work experience
• Faculty & Community letters of recommendation (2)
• Final review by Eastman Scholarship Selection Team
The Tenaska Scholarship application must be completed online before March 6, 2026.

Family members of Tenaska employees are not eligible to receive scholarship funds.
