Dear Parents and Carers,

After reviewing our Distance Learning offer today and listening to feedback from staff and parents following the live lessons, we have made the decision to pre-record all Year 2 lessons for you to access at a convenient time for your family at home. This will allow your child to work at their own pace, pause the video at anytime, watch again to revisit and avoid relying on working technology! We hope this will help families trying to balance working from home and supporting their child/children with their learning.

All lessons, videos and resources should be accessed on the Distance Learning Websites below:

There will still be a 9am morning class hangout with your child's class teacher. Please see below for the links. If you cannot join the Hangout at 9am, please email the school using the following Distance Learning email addresses to let us know why, as Teachers are required to record attendance.

If you have any issues throughout the school day or require any support during the lessons, please also email the same Distance Learning addresses as above and a member of the Year 2 team will get back to you as soon as possible. This email will be monitored throughout the school day and will be used to provide feedback to any work completed at home sent in.

We hope this change in our Distance Learning offer will ensure all children can access the Year 2 curriculum at their level and continue learning at home during the school closures. We know how challenging this time can be and we can only do our best! Everyone's home situation is different and you can only do what you can. Please try not to worry or stress and do contact us if we can support you further in anyway. As always, children's wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do and we will continue working together as a team to get through this challenging time.

Children will meet in their classes via a Google meet at 9am. This will be similar to our registration session that we have in school and a chance to explain the day.

When children are in the Hangout they should be reminded of the following rules:

• Stay on mute unless you are asked to unmute by an adult.

• Only use the chat function for work conversations (e.g. to ask a question or to respond to the teacher).

• Ensure that your camera is on and that you are facing the screen so that your face can been seen, away from distractions where possible.

• Be aware of your surroundings and what can be seen in your background.

• Make sure that you are dressed appropriately.
