TEDDY BEAR PICNIC
Thursday 9th July 26
To celebrate a wonderful term of learning, we have arranged a Teddy Bear Picnic for the Year 2 students! This event will take place on Thursday 9th July 2026.
The Picnic Guest List: Every child is invited to bring one teddy bear from home to join the festivities. Please ensure the bear is small enough to fit inside a rucksack, as the children will be responsible for carrying their furry friend to the park!

We will be walking to Cheam Park together. Please arrive at school at the normal time, as we will be departing at 9:30am. We will arrive back in time for normal pick-up arrangements.
The children should wear school uniform as usual; however, as we will be walking and participating activities, they are encouraged to wear trainers or comfortable shoes. Please ensure your child has a sun hat and has had sun cream applied before school.
Lunch will be eaten at the park, you can either provide your child with a packed lunch or if you would like the school to provide a packed lunch please email the office by 19th June 26.
We will need several parent volunteers to help the day run smoothly. We welcome your help for any duration of time—whether you can stay for an hour or the whole day (9:30 am – 2:30 pm), we would love to have you! If you are available, please fill out this google form by Monday 15th June. Please note: students must return to school for normal pick-up and cannot leave from the park.

CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURES
Thursday 4th June 26
We have arranged a fantastic trip to Chessington World of Adventures for the Year 2 children. This trip will take place on Thursday 4th June 2026.
We will be travelling there by LEO mini buses. Please be to school for normal time. We shall be arriving back in time for normal pick up arrangements. The children should wear school uniform as usual, however as there will be some walking involved throughout the day, they will be allowed to wear trainers/comfortable shoes. They should also wear weather appropriate coats.
Lunch will be eaten at the venue, you can either provide your child with a packed lunch or if you would like the school to provide a packed lunch please email the office by 15th May 26.
We would highly recommend the children use a small rucksack. Please do not send your child with a large lunchbox or bag as they will have to carry it.
We will need some parent volunteers. If you are available on this date and would like to offer your help, please fill out this google form no later than 1st May. We will then contact you to confirm your help. If you sign up to help and are unable to do so closer to the date, please let us know as soon as possible.

The cost of the Trip is £10 and needs to be paid by end of May. Please log onto your child's Arbor account to make payment under Activities/Trips.
GREAT FIRE OF LONDON WORKSHOP
Wednesday 24th June 26
We are thrilled to announce that on Wednesday 24th June, Year 2 will be transported back to the year 1666 for a spectacular, hands-on history experience! This will take place in school.
To bring our curriculum to life, we are hosting a professional drama workshop that promises to be both educational and unforgettable.
In this immersive session, the children will move beyond the history books to experience one of London's most dramatic moments first-hand.
The cost of the Trip is £5 and needs to be paid by end of May. Please log onto your child's Arbor account to make payment under Activities/Trips.
BROOKLANDS
Wednesday 4th February 26
To support our learning on the history of transport, we have arranged a fantastic trip to Brooklands Transport Museum for the Year 2 children. This trip will take place on Wednesday 4th February 2026. On this trip, the children will have the chance to see different modes of transport from the past up close and take part in a workshop constructing their own vehicles.
We will be travelling there by coach, leaving school at 9:15am and arriving back in time for normal pick up arrangements. The children should wear school uniform as usual, however as there will be some walking involved throughout the day, they will be allowed to wear trainers/comfortable shoes. They should also wear weather appropriate coats.

LOCAL WALK
Thursday 6th November 25
Dear Parents/ Carers,
We are very much looking forward to our Year 2 local walk as part of next half term’s Geography lessons, To celebrate the start of this topic, we will be going on a local walk to Cheam Park Cafe on Thursday 6th November. On the walk we will be looking at the route that we take, as well as spotting key geographical features that may need to be recorded on a map.
At the minute we have had very few parent volunteers and without them we will not be able to take part in this trip. We would be very grateful for any parents who are able to accompany us on this walk. If you are available and would like to accompany us, then please let your class teacher know or email the office.
Please send your child with weather appropriate clothing on the day i.e. a raincoat if it is raining or there is a chance of rain.
If you have any questions at all about this walk, please do not hesitate to speak to one of us.
