Year 6 Educational Visits
SUTTON LIFE CENTRE
Date: Friday 17 November 2023
We have arranged for Year 6 to go to Sutton Life Centre for Junior Citizenship Day on Friday 17th November 2023. There will be many sessions led by a range of professionals.
These sessions include:
Metropolitan Police - Knife Crime
Transform - Domestic Abuse (positive and negative relationships)
London Fire Brigade - Fire Safety
London Ambulance Service - First Aid
Network Rail - Railway Safety and Trespass
Transport for London - Bus and Tube Safety
The day is designed to support the work we are doing to prepare the children as they move into secondary education and become increasingly more independent.
We will leave school at approximately 9.00am and return at lunchtime. We will be walking to and from the venue, therefore we advise that the children wear trainers and bring a waterproof jacket with them.
BRITISH MUSEUM
Date: Thursday 23rd November 2023
As part of our Geography topic (Hola Mexico), we have planned a trip to The British Museum where we will take park in a workshop, as well as visit rooms where children will get to explore the Mexican Civilisation.
The workshop will cost each child £3.00 and payment can be made via Arbor.
We will be travelling on the 93 to Morden Station, then getting on two tubes.
Morden → Kennington
Kennington →Tottenham Court Road
Once we get to Tottenham Court Road, it is roughly an 8 minute walk to the museum.
We will be leaving school at 9am in the morning so normal school times apply and we aim to be back by the end of the school day. If we are running late, we will inform you via the office and Twitter/X.
Please provide in a rucksack:
1. Rain Jacket
2. Water Bottle
3. Snack
If you would like the school to provide a lunch for your child please state below. Your child must be in school uniform and can wear comfortable shoes (trainers) as we will be doing a lot of walking throughout the day.
ISLE OF WIGHT RESIDENTIAL 2024
Date: Monday 15th July - Friday 19th July 2024
We are very excited to announce that we have worked with LEO Academy Trust to organise a residential trip to Isle of Wight for our Year 6 pupils. We are very fortunate to have secured a booking as it is an extremely popular venue with school groups. We would like to offer the opportunity for your child to take part in this trip.
The cost of this trip is £395 and this includes accommodation, full board, insurance and a full programme of activities.
We feel it is important that all our pupils have access to the wider opportunities offered by our Trust. If you are experiencing any financial difficulties please contact your child’s teacher or if you prefer the school office. Any communication will be held in strict confidence.
You can find out more about our residential trip to Isle Of Wight through our online presentation:
Year 6 - Isle of Wight with IOW Experience
Residential trips organised by the school are, of course, an optional but invaluable part of the National Curriculum. Pupils benefit hugely from the experience, both educationally and socially and we feel certain that the trip we have chosen this year will prove to be both enjoyable and very worthwhile.
There will be a meeting for the parents closer to the trip to give you more information about packing, your child being away from home and the exciting range of activities which will be available for them.
In order to help you spread the cost of this trip, you may make payments via Arbor. Arbor allows you to pay the outstanding balance or additional payments at any time. Arbor will not send out payment reminders, but the school office will send out payment reminders
In February 2024 we will ask you to confirm that you still would like your child to attend. If your child no longer wishes to attend you will lose your non refundable deposit of £50. After this time we need to make you aware of the cancellation policy and charges which are as follows:
If received more than 70 days prior to departure - Loss of deposit = £50
If received between 22 and 70 days - Loss of 60% of total price = £237
If received between 0 and 21 days - Loss of 100% of total price = £395
Kind regards
Ms. Wright
Principal
TRIP PAYMENTS
Payment for all trips can be made on Arbor, you will find them under the Trips section of your child's account.
