Manor Park Primary Academy

Weekly Notices and Reminders

 Friday 3rd November 2023

Learning, Excellence and Opportunity

Manor Park Primary Academy School has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This responsibility necessitates a child protection policy and procedures which are available to view on the website, or a copy can be requested from the School Office. Our designated Child Protection Officers are Ms. Thomas and Ms. Laing. Information may need to be shared with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. Manor Park Primary Academy is committed to gender, racial, religion and disability equality in every part of school life.

School Notices and Reminders

We will be including some general reminders in our Weekly Notices sheet in the coming weeks for the benefit of our new parents/carers, which we hope you will find useful. Reception – Year 6 Nasal/ Injectable Flu Vaccination session: 05/12/2023

This vaccination is recommended to help protect your child against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu.

This year we will be offering both nasal and injectable (halal) flu vaccination and the parent can make an informed choice on the consent form

Please use the link provided to access the electronic consent form https://sav.hrch.nhs.uk/flu/2023/sutton

Please complete one consent form for each child to ensure your child receives their vaccination.

The deadline for submitting your e-consent form is midnight on Tuesday, 28th November 2023.

Please complete the consent form even if you decide you do not want to vaccinate your child against flu this year.

If you have any queries, please contact the relevant immunisation team below.

Contact with your Child's Class Teacher

Due to the large number of emails coming into the office,  we would ask that if you have a question or concern  about your child, please talk to their teacher at home-time in the playground. If a longer meeting is required, please arrange a telephone appointment with the class teacher via the school office, indicating the reason for your request so that the teacher is prepared and able to deal with your concerns.

Alternative Home Time Arrangements

We would like to ask that,  if your child is being collected from school or after school club by another person and they are not on your list of contacts who do have permission to collect, please send with your child a written note to their class teacher that morning. This will save time and ensure that the teacher is aware that someone else is collecting your child that day.

School Uniform Sale

We are now accepting donations for our second uniform sale of this academic year that we are holding on Monday 11th December 2023 from 3.00pm-3.45pm in the playground (weather permitting)

Please can we politely ask that you bring coins for any payments as it is not always possible for us to provide the correct change. Cash payments only.

Our last sale raised just over £80 for school funds which is  great and parents and carers were very glad to be able to buy these items at a very low cost. Thank you for your support.

Could we please remind parents that, if your child takes home another child's fleece or jumper, you please return this back to the school as soon as possible.

This Week At Manor Park

This week, the Reception children have been engaged in exploring different forms of puppetry as part of their Mini Learning Project 'Puppets and Popups'.  They have been learning to make a variety of different hand and prod puppets to reenact some of their favourite stories and even ended the week with a  fantastic puppet show that all the children whole heartedly enjoyed!

F.O.M.P.

The children have the opportunity to design their own personalised, professionally printed Christmas card, which you can then buy to give to family and friends. They have been given a template to bring home today to draw their Christmas design on.

Please write your child’s name and class in block capitals in the space provided on the back of the template. This will appear on the finished printed card.

Please see instructions that were sent via email earlier on today (Friday 3rd November) for more helpful information on how the cards should be designed.

Note the deadline for the return of this templates to the class teacher is Friday 17th November. Any designs received past this date will, unfortunately, be unable to be processed.

Happy drawing!
