YOUTH Mental health first aid

  • An in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

  • Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • Knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate

  • Ability to support a young person with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive

  • Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing


Delivered in four manageable chunks:


  • What is mental health?

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Suicide and psychosis

  • Self-harm and eating disorders

Half Day Aware Course Online


An introductory 3 hour course designed to increase awareness of young people’s mental health and some of the issues that can affect this age group, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis. It will equip you with skills to support and work more effectively with young people and help you relate to their experiences.

ECT Training

Come and join us for the last of three sessions! A fun and active course, packed full of useful ideas and knowledge aimed at increasing confidence to deliver high quality and inclusive PE lessons. The focus will be on summer term activities and what does a good or better lesson look like? There will be opportunities for you to connect with other ECTs, share experiences, knowledge and skills through interactive games and activities.

Brick-by-brick Programme

We all love to play! That’s the ethos behind the Brick-by-Brick™ programme. Formerly known as LEGO® based therapy, the programme brings young people together to make friends and develop skills over a shared interest in LEGO play. Play Included have partnered with the Lego Foundation and are just finalising their suite of revised training opportunities. We will hopefully be able to offer this training next term.
