Welcome to Cheam Common Junior Academy, a four form entry school, in the heart of Worcester Park. We are proud to foster a positive and inspiring learning environment, where we aim to meet every child’s individual needs, including those with special needs, learning difficulties and those that are high achieving. Within our school, we encourage children to be strong, resilient, and confident, whilst making sure they are happy and have a passion for learning through our key values of P.R.I.D.E: perseverance, respect, imagination, determination and encouragement. Our wonderfully nurturing and supportive environment, where every child can truly learn and aim high, is at the heart of everything we set out to achieve.
Throughout Cheam Common Junior Academy, we strive to ensure every child reaches their full potential, both academically and pastorally. Our fundamental principles of learning are reflected through our ‘Excellent Learner’ values: a set of inspiring and motivational badges to encourage children to be the best learner they can possibly be. As of 2019, Cheam Common Junior Academy has been placed within the top 3% of all schools nationally, due to the outstanding progress and attainment of all children at the end of Key Stage Two. Such an achievement is a reflection of our experienced and dedicated members of staff, who provide engaging and exciting lessons supported by an innovative and creative curriculum. High quality lessons, not just within the core areas of English and Mathematics, but across all foundation subjects are carefully planned and coordinated across year groups to ensure children are able to confidently express their knowledge and understanding fully.
Encouraging and developing a child’s individual creativity is key to unlocking their full potential, and as such, at Cheam Common Junior Academy we have developed a variety of exciting opportunities and offer a range of extracurricular activities for all children. Through our wonderfully successful 1:1 chromebook programme, every child within our school is provided with a laptop to use both within lessons and at home in order to help further develop their education, whilst preparing them fully for the future. Working together with Sutton Sports Partnership, we are proud to offer an extensive range of sporting activities and over 40 clubs including swimming, archery, football, dance and gymnastics, both before and after school, to suit every child’s needs. Children also have the opportunity to explore a wide range of music lessons, art based programmes, access to our forest school outdoor resources as well as partake in residential trips away from home within each year group. Working in partnership with parents, our passionate and committed staff ensure all children are fully prepared, so that, when they are ready to leave, they are equipped with the necessary skills to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them.
