Year 5 Trips

Date: Monday 15th April - Friday 19th April 2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very excited to announce that we have worked with LEO Academy Trust to organise a residential trip to Kingswood Devon for our Year 5 pupils. We are very fortunate to have secured a booking as it is an extremely popular venue with school groups. We would like to offer the opportunity for your child to take part in this trip.

The cost of the visit will be £350, this includes accommodation, full board, insurance and a full programme of activities. To keep the cost affordable for our families, LEO Academy Trust will be funding the cost of travel to and from the destination.  

By completing this form you will be confirming your child's place on this trip. The £50 deposit is not refundable in the event that you decide not to send your child on this trip.

We feel it is important that all our pupils have access to the wider opportunities offered by our Trust. If you are experiencing any financial difficulties please contact your child’s teacher or if you prefer the school office. Any communication will be held in strict confidence.

LEO Year 5 Residential Trip 2023 - Kingswood Ultimate Adventure Centre - Bideford, Devon

Residential trips organised by the school are, of course, an optional but invaluable part of the National Curriculum. Pupils benefit hugely from the experience, both educationally and socially and we feel certain that the trip we have chosen this year will prove to be both enjoyable and very worthwhile.

At the start of this term, teachers from your child’s year group will be holding an assembly for the children to share the exciting news and more detailed information about the residential trip.

There will be a meeting arranged for the parents in a few weeks time to discuss about your child being away from home and the exciting range of activities which will be available for them. There will also be another meeting closer to the trip with more detailed information about packing/timings etc.

In order to help you spread the cost of this trip, you are able to make payments in instalments via Arbor. It is your responsibility to ensure the trip is fully paid by 30th March 2024. Arbor will not prompt you to make payments, but the School Office will send out payment reminders

In November 2023 we will ask you to confirm that you still would like your child to attend. If your child no longer wishes to attend you will lose your non refundable deposit. After this time we need to make you aware of the cancellation policy and charges which are below. If you decide to cancel, you will be required to pay the amount shown below:

+56 days 1st & 2nd Deposits non-refundable £50 & £110 = £160

56 - 29 days prior to Arrival Date - 60%* Cost = £210

 28 - 15 days prior to Arrival Date - 80%* = £280

14 - 0 days prior to Arrival Date - 100%* *% of final balance paid = £350
