The free books included within the packs cover a diverse range of subjects from fairy tales to football, from camping to crocodiles and from wild cats to worms - there is really something for all ages and abilities.
For us to be in with a chance of winning a pack, we need to collect 3,500 tokens that will be printed in The Sun and The Sun on Sunday before January 18th 2020.
You can post your tokens in the box located in the front office!
In January, we are going to be working on a piece of art for an art competition all about endangered animals. We would like to use some images of children posing with or around endangered animals.
Do you have any photographs of children with/around endangered animals or just endangered animals?
Examples: Elephants / Pangolins / Rhinos / Tigers / Chimpanzees / Snow Leopards / Lions and Painted dogs
We would of course do our best to return these once the competition has finished.
More information can be found at: https://davidshepherd.org/global-canvas
Please give any photographs to Mr Ansell or hand them into the main office FAO Mr Ansell.

On Wednesday 11th December, Year 6 had a great trip to Kidzania. From Worcester Park all the way to Shepherd's Bush, we travelled by overground train. It was a long journey but we enjoyed it with many laughs and giggles. At last we arrived at Kidzania! In excitement, we skipped to the queues and made it to the front of the line.
For each job we did, we had to pay money to do the job, or were given a sensational salary. It was a tiny world where we got to be adults. We ran around (not too fast!) from job to job until we were breathless. Unfortunately we had to leave after a great day.
As we boarded the train back, some of us spotted a celebrity! It was Luke Fetherston - an actor from the CBBC show Almost Never. He was very friendly and it was a great bonus to the trip. There were so many great moments throughout the day - Miss Elkins even made us laugh when started talking to a stranger thinking it was Mrs Barry.
Thank you to all the Year 6 teachers and adults for taking us on this fantastic trip!
Year 2 have been busy learning about microhabitats as part of their 'Live and Let Live' topic.
They went on a hunt around school looking for different minibeasts and where they might live.
Remember to check out the Home Learning page on the website to find details of your optional projects!
Make sure you come and show Miss Shaw and Mrs Townsend.

If you could see into the future - would you look?
Jenni Green doesn't have a choice. On her way to visit her best friend, Autumn, Jenni suddenly finds she's been transported exactly one year forward in time.
Now she discovers that in the year that's gone by, tragedy has struck and her friendship with Autumn will never be the same again. But what caused the tragedy? How did Jenni skip a year? And can she find her way back to the past to try to change what lies ahead?

The top three classes in Key Stage 2 were:
INGREDIENTS
sunflower oil, for greasing
175g plain flour, plus extra
1 tsp ground ginger
zest 1 orange
100g butter, cold, cut into chunks
50g golden caster sugar
1 tbsp. milk
12 fruit-flavoured boiled sweets
icing sugar, to dust
about 120cm thin ribbon, to decorate
METHOD
Heat oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Grease 2 large non-stick baking sheets with oil. Whizz the flour, ginger, zest and butter with 1⁄2 tsp salt to fine crumbs in a food processor. Pulse in the sugar and milk, then turn out and knead briefly on a floured surface until smooth. Wrap in cling film, then chill for about 30 mins.
Flour the work surface again, then roll out the dough to the thickness of a £1 coin. Use 7cm cutters to cut out shapes, then use 4cm cutters to cut out the middles. Re-roll leftover pieces. Make a hole in the top of each biscuit, then carefully lift onto the baking sheets.
Crush the sweets in their wrappers with a rolling pin, then put the pieces into the middles of the biscuits – the sweets should be level with the top of the dough. Bake for 15-20 mins or until the biscuits are golden brown and the middles have melted.
Leave to harden, then transfer to a rack to cool. Thread with ribbon, then dust with icing sugar. Will keep for a month, but best eaten within 3 days.

The Sustainable Transport Team is seeking to recruit Cycle Instructors in the Sutton area to deliver Bikeability, the national cycle training programme for children. As one of our professional trained instructors you could earn up to £420.16 per week to deliver our standard Bikeability courses involving 20 hours of contact with riders plus time for course administration and travel. Our Bikeability sessions are typically 10.00 - 12.00 and 13.00 - 15.00, plus travel time. All instructors must train on a 4-day National Standard Instructor course. It is an advantage if you already hold this qualification although not essential as training will be arranged for the right candidates.
So if you are a regular cyclist, have good road sense, are a good communicator and enjoy working outdoors, then this could be just the job for you. If appropriate you will receive further training in First Aid and Cycle Maintenance.
For an informal discussion about these positions please telephone Eric Chasseray, Sustainable Transport Officer on 020 8547 5826 or email eric.chasseray@kingston.gov.uk
The Refugee and Migrant Network Sutton, Citizens Advice and LBS are holding two events to explain about the EU Settlement scheme and the help that they can offer. They will also answer any queries that people may have.
These are taking place on the 5th Dec and 30th January from 5.30 - 7pm at the Civic Offices.
