Beegu - Alexis Deacon
Beegu is not supposed to be on Earth. She is lost. She is a friendly little creature, but the Earth People don't seem very welcoming at all. However, so far she has only met the BIG ones. The little ones are a different matter . . .

On Tuesday, History Club attended the opening of the Garden of Remembrance at Bourne Hall Park.
They have also written a poem about Remembrance Day.
On the 5th November, History Club went to Bourne Hall and read a poem about World War I & II. We were the only school who had written our own poem - the other seven schools either had a song or a poem written by someone else.
After all the schools performed, we planted crosses in the ground and remembered all of the people who died in the war but the ground was hard so it was hard to put them in.
The museum that was attached to the gardens had amazing World War I artefacts and we got to hold them.

On Tuesday 5th November, History Club went to Bourne Hall and performed a poem we had written. It was about the World Wars. We all had lines and everyone performed with enthusiasm and excitement. Some of the other schools read poems they didn't write but we had created our own. It is called: We Will Remember Them.
Afterwards, we planted crosses and remembered all those who suffered in the wars.
After that, we went into the museum and held weapons from WW1. It was an amazing experience.

Remember, remember on the 11th of November,
When lives were taken and death was woken.
Weapons, oh weapons, how much you’ve destroyed,
Women and men, girls and boys.
Weapons, oh weapons, how many you have hurt
How many lives have been lost?
The terrible Nazis sent mind-stretching codes,
And their success in attacks began to explode.
However, bright Alan Turing, the enigma he invented,
And so the Nazi’s armour was dented.
Half buried in the ground,
Straining ears for every sound.
The air raid shelter will surely protect us?
As bombs rain down from up above.
D-Day, D-Day on the 6th of June,
Dramatic events of world war two.
A battle; on the beaches of France it was held,
Yes it was rough, but it’s worth remembering all that was left.
Crackers and chocolates; gifts exchanged,
Football played on Christmas Day.
A truce was called; no shots were fired,
Men were exhausted; men were tired.
Remember, remember, on the 11th of November,
When lives were taken and death was woken.
We enjoyed a yummy Bonfire Night lunch on Tuesday. Thank you to our catering and lunchtime team.
Friday 13th December - Christmas Jumper, Dinner and PTFA Fair Day!
