Monday 9th March - Friday 13th March
British Science Week
This year's theme is ‘Our Diverse Planet’.
Over the course of the week, the children will be participating in a range of exciting STEM theme activities which include workshops and our first ever science fair.
One of our favourite days of the year took place this week - World Book Day!
This year each class completed different activities based on either 'Leon and the Place Between' or 'The Incredible Book Eating Boy'. As well as this, throughout the day, the children enjoyed many different activities including 'Mystery Storyteller' (where teachers read to different classes) and shared reading between different year groups. The also had the opportunity to take part in a World Book Day Quiz!
Alongside World Book Day, this week we have also been running our annual book fairs. We would like to thank everyone who attended and purchased something as the money raised goes towards bringing new and exciting books into the school.
Well done on all your fantastic costumes and we're already looking forward to planning new and exciting things for next year!
Monday 30th March - Bake Off (more details to follow from the PTFA)
Friday 3rd April - Mad Hatters Parade (more details to follow from the PTFA)
St Raphael’s Hospice care for people with terminal illnesses in Merton and Sutton. They need £6 million a year to run, relying heavily on public donations and fundraising as only 24% is received from the NHS.
Every year they make Easter hampers that they ask the local community to raffle to raise funds. Hospice mascot Lenny needs help to fill as many hampers as possible with Easter Eggs of all shapes and sizes. If you can help by donating an egg or box of chocolates, you can drop them into any of the 10 St Raphael’s charity shops, hand them in to reception at the Hospice in London Road or alternatively, drop them into the school office by Monday 16th March.
The hampers will be raffled through local businesses and community groups. All proceeds will ensure that St Raphael’s can continue providing expert end of life care every day.
Lenny hopes to have enough eggs to make 40 hampers and also give every patient and their family a visit from the Easter bunny on Easter Sunday.
Please be reminded to make any outstanding payments for workshops, trips and swimming as soon as you are able.
Thank you.

Dog Man - Dav Pilkey
George and Harold (the co-stars of the enormously popular Captain Underpants series) are in big trouble again!
George and Harold have created a new breed of justice -- one that is part dog, part man, and ALL HERO!
With the head of a dog and the body of a human, this heroic hound digs into deception, claws after crooks, rolls over robbers, and scampers after squirrels.
Will he be able to resist the call of the wild to answer the call of duty?
