Congratulations, Mrs Judge!
A massive congratulations to Mrs Judge for delivering a healthy baby boy, Jude, earlier this week. Both baby and mum are both doing well and we can't wait to meet him soon. We wish Mrs Judge and her family all the best!
Wellbeing Woofers Appeal
As you may be aware, Wellbeing Woofer dogs have been coming into Cheam Common Juniors over the last term. They are now on the quest to find more hypoallergenic doggies and their lovely owners to join our growing team. Wellbeing Woofers visit lots of different schools and care homes in the local area and need some more paws!
If you love people and animals this could be the perfect job for you and your dog.
Please contact Gemma our Wellbeing Woofer Coordinator at: wellbeingwoofers@gmail.com for more details or check out this website for more information.

Children's Hospital Pyjamas Campaign!
As we quickly approach the festive season, we have taken on board a new Christmas fundraiser. Our chosen charity for the festive season is ‘Children’s Hospital Pyjamas’. This amazing charity donates brand new pairs of pyjamas to poorly children in hospital over the Christmas period.
We aim to also donate to:
St Helier Hospital (Sutton)
The Royal Marsden Hospital (Sutton)
St George’s Hospital (Tooting)
Kingston Hospital (Kingston Upon Thames)
If you would like to help us support this charity, we are asking for either donations of brand new pyjamas or money that will go towards buying new pyjamas. To confirm, we are only able to accept BRAND NEW pyjamas due to the vulnerability of the children who will be receiving the pyjamas. Unfortunately, second hand pyjamas are not accepted. The pyjamas can be any size ranging from baby sizes - 10 years old. Alternatively, money donations are also welcomed and will be used to purchase new pyjamas to go towards our donations.
The deadline for all donations is Monday 14th November. Please hand pyjamas into the school office or Miss Beagle’s classroom, 4CB. Cash donations will be accepted at the gate each morning.
We hope that we can count on your generosity on this occasion as we are pleased that we are able to support a local charity, as well as our local hospitals.

This week, you will have received a sticker and a leaflet with details on how to order the Christmas card that your child designed earlier this term. Simply follow this link and enter the details below.

Secondhand books and board games
Do you have any secondhand books or board games that you no longer need? At Cheam Common, we would appreciate donations of any of these items. Books are always appreciated and board games are extremely useful, especially during wet play! Simply drop these into the office or ask your child to hand them to their class teacher. Thank you for your support in advance!

Year 6 Pupil Leadership Roles
Over the next few weeks, we would like to introduce some of the pupils who have taken up our Year 6 Pupil Leadership roles.
This week, we would like to introduce our new School Council leads: Ayana and Evana. These children are responsible for chairing weekly School Council meetings alongside Mrs Culver. The School Council is responsible for raising money for charities throughout the year and holding themed events that involve the whole school. They are also on the look out for fundraising activities to raise money for our school. Two children in each class are members of School Council. Watch out for more events throughout the year.
Miss Govier and Mr Francis visit LEGOLand!
On Tuesday, Miss Govier and Mr Francis visited LEGOLand to attend a training course all about how LEGO can help children to code. We have recently received LEGO Spike Education kits that Mr Wood has been trialling in Coding Club. We can't wait for all of our children to have a go trying these kits out.
We are now a Music Mark School!
We are delighted to have received a certificate of recognition for being a Music Mark School. We were awarded this due to our commitment to high-quality music provision for our children. Well done to Miss Green, our music providers and to all of our staff to their dedication to giving our children these opportunities.
More victories for our football teams!
On Tuesday, our Year 5/6 Boys' Football team played Cheam Fields in the first round of the Surrey Cup. The boys played incredibly well and recorded another resounding victory! A special mention to Seyi, who showed an exemplary attitude throughout the whole match.
On Wednesday, our Year 5/6 Girls' Football team played Dorcester in the next of their league fixtures. They emerged victorious once ahead, winning 5-1. Well done, Jasmine, for scoring all five of our goals and to Alma, for being strong in midfield!

Friends of Cheam Common - Updates
Year 6 Leavers' Hoodies
Our parents are once again organising Year 6 Leavers' Hoodies for our current Year 6 children. Last year, several parents requested that this process started earlier so that the children could wear their hoodies throughout the colder months. Please see all information below.
Please note: If you are interested in purchasing a hoodie, do not order until you know the size. Your child will be able to try on the different sizes during the school day. Alternatively, the hoodies will also be available where Year 6 are dismissed at the end of the day if you would like to check your child's size.
Deadline: Sunday 6th November
School Disco!
On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th November, the Friends of Cheam Common have organised various discos to raise money for our school, as well as Cheam Common Infants. All of these events will take place in the CCJ school hall. The timings of which can be found on the right.
Tickets are only available to purchase online. These cost £5 + 35p booking fee. This includes entrance to the disco, a drink and a snack. Please click here to book.
Please read the flyer for more information.
Helpers for Christmas Raffle needed!
The Friends of Cheam Common are looking for parents to help source some amazing prizes for their Christmas Raffle.
If you would like to help out by speaking to local businesses about donating prizes, work for a company that would be willing to donate a prize, or by organising a hamper to be made as a prize, then they would appreciate any support.
Please contact friends_ccja@outlook.com for a copy of the donations letter or for more information.

‘Small Change, Big Difference’ Parent Group for parents of children with a diagnosis of autism.'
We are also looking to host another Small Change, Big Difference course with Adapt to Learn. For those that are unfamiliar with this course, we run this as an alternative to the Early Bird programme. Some information about this is below.
If you are interested in attending this course, please email: sutton@nas.org.uk and we'll be in touch.
The aim is to empower parents, supporting them to help their children by developing an in-depth understanding of autism. Taking a positive approach, we will explore, share and discuss practical strategies to help develop communication skills, pre-empt and manage behaviour and gain confidence and resilience.
During the sessions, parents will be given the opportunity to make connections, gain support and feel less isolated.
Each course comprises of four x 1.5-hour sessions and will cover a range of topics.
