Wednesday 2nd October 8:45-9:45am
On Wednesday 2nd October, we would like to invite parents of children with Special Educational Needs to join us for a Coffee Morning in the Cheam Common Junior hall. This will be an opportunity to network and chat with other parents. Members of the leadership team will also be present to have a chat and answer any questions.
Please note that you are more than welcome to attend if you have children with Special Educational Needs that attend other schools. It is simply an informal chance to speak with parents who might have similar experiences.
If you would like to attend, please complete this short form so that we can provide refreshments accordingly.
Monday 30th September - Friday 4th October
Once again, we will be collecting food donations to celebrate our annual Harvest Festival.
From Monday 30th September to Friday 4th October, we will be accepting donations of items listed below:
Instant mash, cereal (not porridge), Weetabix, rice pudding, custard, instant coffee, biscuits, noodles, jam / honey / marmalade, ketchup / brown sauce / mayonnaise, peanut butter, chocolate spread, shampoo / conditioner, deodorant, shower gel, soap, chocolate/ sweet treats. They are also accepting any other tinned products or long life products.
These donations can be brought into school and, either donated at the CCI playground gate or your child can bring them to their classrooms.
Year One and Year Two children will be performing at Christ Church with St Philip. They will
be singing a few Harvest songs and performing a simple poem. Their performance takes
place on Tuesday 1st October 2024 at 9.15am.
In Nursery we have been reading the Colour Monster. We have talked about emotions and what makes us feel certain ways. We made faces using loose parts and acted out different stories using our Tales Toolkit items.
In Reception we have also been reading the Colour Monster. We have created Colour Monsters using different art mediums. We have also started phonics and have been practising letter formation of the sounds we have learnt.
What a fun and exciting week it has been for Year One. They went on their first school trip to their local area, Worcester Park. The children were very excited and we were so proud of how sensibly they walked. They saw many features in the local area and particularly loved seeing Broncos and Fresco, their favuorite places to visit in Worcester Park. They learnt about how to cross the roads safely. The children have begun their new English book Beegu, which they are really enjoying and they have explored who Beegu is and wrote some simple sentences to describe her. In Maths, the children have been comparing height and weight and also have learnt about comparing two numbers more than, less than and equal too. What a fun week it has been!
This week, Year 2 have been exploring the life of Mary Seacole. They produced some excellent accounts explaining why she is such a significant historical figure. In Maths we have been deepening our understanding of place value by comparing 2-digit numbers using part part whole models. We are so proud of how hard they are working on their Harvest Celebration performance and we can’t wait to share it with you next Tuesday! Well done Year 2!
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
