School council and behaviour policy including Be ready bee!!
School council and behaviour policy including Be ready bee!!
This week the school councillors and Mrs Hughes met to discuss our new behaviour policy. They decided that this half term our focus bee would be the "Be Ready to Learn Bee." They worked collaboratively to decide what being ready to learn looked like and then designed a poster that will go up in the classrooms to remind the children how they can show that they are 'ready to learn.'

Each week a class from both Year One and Year Two will receive the 'Bee Award." In collaboration with their class and teacher the school councillors will nominate their class with a reason explaining how their class has shown that they are ready to learn and why they think they should receive the weekly reward. Other members of staff can make nominations and Mrs Hughes and Miss Thorndycraft will also 'bee' on the lookout. The classes will be announced each week during assembly on Friday and will win the 'Be Ready Bee' for the week.

Helping our children build resilience and confidence is one of the most important gifts we can give them. We all understand how life can bring many challenges throughout and how important it is on how we manage this. Resilience is being able to manage stress, challenges, trauma or adversity that life brings and bounce back from it. When children and teens are resilient, they are going to be more confident, curious and adaptable to the world around them. Please refer to the infographic on the right hand side.
