Updates
Welcome Back!
We hope you all had a lovely half term.
We hope you did lots of reading over the half term. Please remember to return your child's reading book so they can get a new one.
Any lost or damaged books will incur a charge of £5
As we start thinking about the festive season we would ask if you could collect pine cones for us for a festive craft. Please give these to your child's teacher - thank you.
We are sure you will join us in congratulating Miss McCarthy and her husband who got married during the half term.
She is now Mrs Rymill.
The LEO Academy Trust's annual conference was held on Monday 31st October. The focus of this year's conference was sustainability.
We would like to thank our Eco Warriors who recorded a message which was shared with the Trust reminding us what we could do to help the planet.
Recycle Here!
If you would like to help us be more sustainable, donate your old crisp wrappers and batteries for us to recycle. Boxes are kept in Reception.
Thank you.
Firework Night
We know many of you will be celebrating Bonfire night this weekend. While it is a night for having fun and celebrating, please look at this Bonfire Night Safety poster with your children and discuss how to be safe.
We hope you enjoy the celebrations!
What's been happening this week
Year 1 have started their 'Magic Toymaker' unit of learning. This week they have been exploring a range of different toys sorting them into modern and old toys.
Our Duckling class are trying to be more sustainable by using leaves to paint on instead of paper.
Fawns, Rabbits and Cygnets class have been very busy this week using their fine motor skills to paint, construct and write.
Year 2 has been using their hand prints to create Remembrance wreaths.
What a busy week our Reception children have had learning about Diwali, the festival of light.
After reading the book 'Lost Toy Museum', Riyen wrote sentences about how the toys felt while dressed as Pikachu!
Some of our Nursery children went on a 'Bear Hunt'. They went "squelch, squelch" through the 'mud', went through the forest and through the whirling snow. What fun they had! They were not scared.
Our Year 1 children had a brilliant time dressing up as toys this week.

Reminders
Communication
If you are emailing into the office please can you remember to include the class as well as your child's name. It makes it much easier and faster for the office staff to then forward on the message to the necessary teacher.
Reading Books
Please can you ensure your child brings their reading book and diary into school every day.
End of Day
Please ensure once you have collected your child they do not climb on any of the school apparatus including the Nursery play equipment and the trim trail. Thank you.
School Fund
A polite reminder that we would be grateful if you could help us to enhance and enrich your child's teaching and learning further by donating to our school fund. This fund helps us provide wider opportunities for example buying materials for Christmas 'making day' or cooking activities.
We would be grateful for a voluntary contribution of £15 per child or £10 if you have more than one child in our Academies.
Payment can be made via your Arbor account. Thank you.
Birthdays
As a healthy school we ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to the library instead of bringing treats for the class. The book will help us to grow our library and ensure we are promoting healthy eaters.
We will display a photo of your child with their book in the library.

WARM WEDNESDAYS
This winter will be a difficult time for many families and households as, despite the government’s energy cap, they struggle to afford energy bills and cope with the rising cost of food. Churches in Epsom & Ewell, working in partnership with Surrey County Council, are committed to showing God’s love in action. The churches across the borough are aiming to provide a network of spaces where people can go and be warm and enjoy hot food and drinks on different days. As its contribution to this initiative Epsom Methodist Church is supporting a ‘Warm Wednesdays' initiative from November to February
During Warm Wednesdays we’ll also be providing opportunities for people to drop in and talk to advisers about energy saving, accessing grants and benefits and managing family finances.
