Welcome to our weekly newsletter!
Welcome back to Summer 2!
We are really excited to get the term started. We have lots of activities planned for example Sports Days, an artist is working with the children at school this week, a skipping man has worked with the Year 1 and Year 2 children this week too!
This week we have also started our new topics. Please see below:
Nursery: Whirling Wheels
Reception: The Places we go
Year 1: Palaces and Castles
Year 2: London's Calling
We are also pleased to finally be able to share that the school continues to be a good school.
As this was a section 8, it is a 'light touch' inspection and our Ofsted grade has not changed. We are really pleased with the outcome. This recognises the dedication and the hard work from the staff, children, governors and parents.
Here are some of the highlights from the report: the school is a happy and safe place; the children have leadership opportunities and play an active role in the school; the curriculum is structured and sequenced; teaching of phonics is strong; SEND provision is good and safeguarding is effective. We will continue to work on the curriculum to ensure that all the good work we have done will be embedded and consistent across all subjects.
I'm sure you will agree that this shows what a great school Cheam Common Infants' is. We are proud of our school and what we have achieved so far.
