Nursery children have had a wonderful week! They have met the Welbeing Woofer, created pictures in the art area and explored the climbing apparatus! They have been trying really hard to learn their new routines and the staff are really proud of them!
Reception children have had a great first full week! They are learning about Goldilocks and the Three Bears and have been completing lots of art and maths activities relating to this. They have also continued their learning about the 3 Bee rules and made bees to stick on our class Hive display.
Year One have had a super week of learning. In Maths, they have been learning how to count back from a given number and have been practising forming their numbers in the correct orientation. In English, the children have enjoyed learning about how Meesha makes friends and have written some wonderful simple sentences about what makes a perfect friend. In Science, the children enjoyed labelling the parts of the body and enjoyed drawing around each other. Using Chromebooks is still a highlight and they ask every day. They are becoming more confident in logging on which is amazing!
Year 2 have been exploring place value and had great fun comparing numbers using ‘Blockzilla’.We have been inspired by nature in art and created beautiful pieces using natural materials. The children have been developing their notetaking skills by finding out information about Florence Nightingale from a range of sources. We have all enjoyed the return of teachers clubs and getting to know the many hidden talents of our new Year 2 children. Well done everyone for all your hard work this week, we are so proud of you!
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
If you do bring in treats, we will NOT hand them out. We expect you and your child to hand them out so you can check if parents are happy for their child to receive the treat.
A massive thank you and belated Happy Birthday to Casey (Year 2), Joshua (Year 1) and Raeesa (Year 1) who have all donated a book to their class libraries. 🎈
