Lenz Casting is an Austin based, up-and-coming casting company with experience in casting background actors and stand-ins for television, film, and commercial productions. We are also available to cast principal roles. Our large database of actors enables us to find the perfect person(s) to fill any role you have a need for.
Together, we have years of personal experience as background actors and strive to make sure those we book are treated fairly and with respect.
Stephanie Lenz was born and raised in Austin. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Mary Hardin-Baylor, and taught in an elementary Functional Academics Class for two years. In 2018 she got her start in the film industry by working as Background on AMC's Fear the Walking Dead season 4, and continued through seasons 5, 6, and 7. From there she went on to work as recurring Background and Stand-in on other productions such as Amazon Prime's Panic, HBO's Love and Death, and The CW's Walker, as well as various commercials and films. Stephanie then decided to try her hand as a Production Assistant and decided she preferred working off camera. Using the knowledge she gained from working on set, she worked her way up into Casting and has found her dream job! Her favorite show is Full House and her favorite movie is The Goonies. In her free time, Stephanie loves spending time with her three kids, boyfriend, and two cats.
Laura is a UTSA graduate and holds her BA in Speech and Communication Studies. She started her casting journey as a Talent Recruiter for Hollister Co., recruiting models for the brand’s campaigns and store events. In 2016 she got her chance in front of the camera on Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel, where she played a Motion Capture Cyborg. She then worked on AMC's Fear the Walking Dead as a Hero Walker wearing SFX prosthetic makeup on seasons 4, 5, 6, and 7. She co-starred on HBO's Love & Death and has appeared in numerous television and film productions including CW's Walker, The Last Thing He Told Me, Clock, Panic, and Queen of the South. She continues to enjoy working in front and behind the lens. Her favourite show is Star Trek Voyager and her fave movie is Hitchcock’s Vertigo. Most importantly, she enjoys sitting at coffee shops with Stephanie dreaming up future endeavours and going hiking in Austin with her hubby and poodle Flyn.
What is a Principal Actor?
Principal actors, or First Team, include the main cast and any day players that have costarring roles. Generally, these actors have speaking lines, but in some cases, if an actor doesn't have any lines and certain level of acting is required, they are still considered a Principal Actor.
What is a Background Actor?
Background actors generally have no speaking lines and are used to fill in the background of a scene to make it look and feel more realistic.
What is a Stand-in?
Stand-ins, or Second Team, are used between takes to set up the lighting and camera angle(s) for the next shot. Generally, they will be the same height, skin tone, and hair color as the actor they are standing in for. Stand-ins are used so the Principal Actors, or First Team, can have a break between set ups.

This was such a fun shoot! We got to meet Aggie Alumni from all walks of life, as well as current students. This was the first time I had been to A&M and I have to say, they have a pretty beautiful campus! Big shout out to everyone who volunteered their time and endured the brutal Texas summer heat to make this shoot a success. The final product is incredible!
