Hello and welcome to the LASALS careers service page!

Here at LASALS we offer careers information, advice and guidance from qualified and experienced advisers. Regardless of your age, circumstances or professional standing, you can access free careers advice and information, helping you to make informed choices and decisions regarding your future career pathways and progression.

Whether this means employment, training or further education, we can help you to realise your potential, enabling you to follow a pathway leading to new and exciting opportunities. We can also discuss your employability needs and help you to access a range of opportunities, including courses from our Employment Skills Programme.

All LASALS learners are entitled to access the LASALS career services for impartial careers related information, advice and guidance. We would also like to hear from people looking to return to learning as well as those considering enrolment onto LASALS courses.

We are dedicated to delivering a quality service and have recruited a careers leader to ensure we keep up to date with current standards of practice and trends in employment and education and that we keep improving on what we are doing to support learners. We are a Matrix accredited information, advice and guidance provider, so it’s not just us that thinks we’re getting it right!

We hope to update this page with new links and information around careers, events and providers regularly, so keeping checking for news and developments. In the meantime, there are a couple of links below to introduce you to careers and employment that you may want to check out.

Although targeted towards secondary school students this is still a useful resource for adults. It has hundreds of videos of people in employment talking all about their jobs, what their duties are, what their working environment is like and how they got into their careers. It covers numerous jobs across more than 30 employment sectors. It also has a Buzz Quiz which is really quick and is all about you, so there’s no wrong answers for a start! It can help you to learn more about your strengths, better understand how others may see you & explore subjects or careers that may suit your animal personality type. I completed the test myself and I am a Seal, which looking at it seems to fit me being a careers adviser perfectly.
