I have forgotten my leicesterlearns password, what do I do?

If you have forgotten your password, we can reset it for you. Just give us a call on 0116 454 1900 or email lasals@leicester.gov.uk

I have asked for a password reset, what do I do next?

When you ask for a password reset, we will get contact you to let your know what your new password is.

Once you log in for the first time with this new password, you will be prompted to create a strong new password. This strong new password cannot be a password that you have used before or the same password that you were provided by the College when you asked for a reset.

The password must:

  1. include at least one capital letter, at least one lower case letter and at least one number

  2. be at least 10 characters long

Your password should not be something easy to guess such as the name of the college, a pet or your child.

Please, remember the new password as you will need it every time you log in. You could write it down somewhere safely such as in the back of your diary or in a note on your phone. You should make sure that is not obvious what it is for!

For some great tips on how to set a safe password that you can easily remember, visit this article on the Government's Cyber Centre Website

I already have a Gmail account, why cannot I use it instead of leicesterlearns?

For security reasons, only those using a leicesterlearns account can access our classes. Your leicesterlearns account does not have any private information linked to it. This is our way to ensure that GDPR guidance is followed.

I don't want to delete my private account to access the one you are giving me.

You don't have to delete your account to use our leicesterlearns student accounts. You can have multiple accounts for your emails.

What if I am using a different computer

If you are using a different computer, the same principle applies. Just go to Gmail.com and sign in with your Leicesterlearns account.
If you are temporarily borrowing a computer and the person whose computer you are borrowing is already signed in, you can ask them to sign out. Don't forget to sign yourself out of Gmail when you are done.

If you use Google Chrome, you can have different profiles in your browser. This can be for different family members, if your device is shared, or for different Gmail accounts for work or personal use.

To set a new profile, click on the circle located to the right hand side of the address bar.
