While we will always have a menu of options to choose from based on your student's interests and needs, each month there will be one or two areas we'll spotlight that we encourage ALL of our Learnwell students to REACH for! Check out the video to hear more about this month's spotlight.
Moving Ahead in March!
Innovating Engineers: In preparation for our own Innovation Expo in April, we're encouraging all of our Reachers to take on The Paradigm Challenge! Project Paradigm is renown for "inviting students aged 4 to 18 around the world to use kindness, creativity, and collaboration to help solve real-life problems," and they incentivize students by offering a prize of $100,000 as a scholarship grand-prize. Each year The Paradigm Challenge puts forth 5 real-world problems and walks individual and teams of students step-by-step through coming up with innovative solutions to these issues. Not only will participation set you up for a rockstar solution to present at our very own Innovation Expo, it could also earn you scholarships, connections to bring your solution to life, and even a trip to Los Angeles. So grab some friends and let's begin!
Walk for Water: Calling all Local Reachers! If you haven't already, you should soon be receiving information about our annual "Walk for Water" fund-raising opportunity! In anticipation of World Water Day, we're inviting Carrie Ward from Water is Basic to share the need and opportunity with our local students on March 14th, and we'll be completing our Walk on March 21st. You've got all month to raise funds to donate to this incredible cause - let's see what we can do!

Reading & Writing
Check out our Read-a-thon Spotlight challenge above! If you're looking for additional reading and writing extension opportunities, complete this month's Reading & Writing Bingo Card! You can find it HERE. Submit your completed BINGO card to Ms. Cori (in person at school, or via the Sumbit Your Bingo Card button on the Read & Write Resources page) for an entry into our REACHers Raffle where you can win cool prizes!

You've heard of March Madness - why not March MATHness?! March has all kinds of fun opportunities to challenge our math superstars, from Pi Day activities for all ages (March 14 - 3.14... more activities HERE) and practice with time as much of the world moves to Daylight Savings Time, to discovering all the ways math and basketball intersect.

This month Science shows up in the Kitchen! Challenge your student to choose one of these cooking related science experiments and then take it a step farther and discuss how the cooking experiment connects to what we've been discussing about nutrition. There are cooking science experiments for kids of all ages available!
