Becky Boudreau, MS.ed

Since I was a little girl growing up in Ellsworth, and attending the Ellsworth Schools, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I used to steal chalk from my teachers' chalk board trays, so I could have my own classroom at home. I attended school all day and would play school at home on my free time.

Since I always planned to become a teacher, I was very aware of how my teachers made me feel. I learned that the "good" teachers were the ones who were willing to laugh with me, see me as an individual, and care about me beyond my grades. I have implemented these assessments and criteria throughout my own profession. I strive to build a strong rapport with my students and their parents. After all, we are a team in this endeavor.

The "good" teachers were also the ones who mastered the subject area, always wanted to learn more, and could admit when he or she didn't know the answer. I have said to almost every student I have taught that education is the one thing that can't be taken from you. Society can take away your character, your dignity, and integrity. Once it is learned, and earned, an education is yours forever.
