Welcome to Mapping Power Standards into Lessons. The work you’ll be doing over the next several days is important work that will deepen your understanding of the standards and allow you to develop an incredible planning tool that will make teaching more effective and help ensure that students meet the challenges of the standards. This process is just as important as the product. By engaging in thoughtful conversations about teaching and learning are with your colleagues, you will prioritize standards and create clear Learning Goals for designing rigorous instruction and assessment.

Successfully Navigating the Google Site

  1. Small dots at the bottom of an image mean it's a carousel. Use the arrows that flanking it to scroll through each image.

  2. Use the links at the bottom of each page to move to the next. You may also use the Navigation Menu located at the top of the page. Simply hover over the Home and dropdown to select the needed page.

  3. Activities like Padlet may be engaged with directly in the course, or you may use the provided link to open a new window.

  4. The Google Spreadsheet created for your grade-level content area will also open in a new window. Each time you are asked to open your spreadsheet at the bottom of a page, it will open to the correct tab on the spreadsheet.

Successfully Using the Google Spreadsheet

  1. Work in the yellow boxes. Highlighting will disappear as populated.

  2. In yellow boxes, only use numbers if an estimated or suggested days is required, or if you are sequencing goals into units or lessons.

  3. Do not copy and paste. This is not needed as the spreadsheet will populate based on your work.

  4. Do not delete anything outside of the yellow boxes.
