  • How would you describe the state of Flow referred to in the video?
  • What activities promote a state of Flow in your everyday life?
  • What characteristics of the activity contribute to your engagement?
  • Describe two changes you could implement in your life today to cultivate a sense of flow in your everyday life.

Blog Entry #1:

Create your first blog entry (on the blog you created in week 1 you should have shared your link with Mrs. Rose) introducing yourself to your classmates and Mrs. Rose. (1-2 paragraphs total) Explain who you are and what are you looking forward to learning in Sociology. Include a picture of yourself.

Also answer the following question posed by the article in your reading how does being aware of your situation help you to look at the world from another perspective(Use a quote and in text citation):

Are you aware of how your personal situation is linked to the forces of history and the society you live in? The sociological imagination is a concept used by the American sociologist C. Wright Mills to describe the ability to “think yourself away from the familiar routines of everyday life” and look at them from an entirely new perspective. In order to develop such skills, you must be able to free yourself from one context and look at things from an alternative point of view. (Isaksen, Thinking Outside the Box)

Blog Responses:

Respond to at least two of your classmates blog entries. These responses need to be positive and helpful in nature. (You can disagree so long as it is in a positive way.) You will find access to your classmates blogs on Mrs. Rose’s Website under Sociology. These only need to be 2-3 sentences. (Avoid things like: Great Job, I agree, I like what you said) These need to be thoughtful academic responses.
