Criteria for Admission
Student must:
Be enrolled in Pearl River High School for at least one semester
Be in Grade 11 or Grade 12
Have a cumulative, unweighted grade point average of at least 90%
Demonstrate high standards of character in the school and community
Exhibit quality leadership skills in extracurricular and community activities
Contribute to the betterment of the school and community through a demonstrated record of a total of at least 120 hours of school and community service as follows:
at least 30 hours of community service for a non-profit community organization, in activities for which the student has not received payment or academic credit
at least 30 hours of school service for Pearl River High School*
at least 60 additional hours of involvement in extracurricular activities which may be a combination of school and community service*
*Note: No more than 30 hours per season and 60 hours in total for sports may be applied toward the hours requirement.
Students with the required cumulative unweighted average are invited to submit a candidate packet in the fall of their junior or senior year. All materials are reviewed by the Faculty Committee in conjunction with our charter from our national organization, NASSP.
