CLASS OF 2022!! Senior Portraits 6/28, 6/29, 6/30
Dear Parents of the Class of 2022!!!
I cannot believe that we are already getting geared up for the 2021-2022 School Year!!
As you know, we typically take the photographs of the upcoming year's seniors during May of their Junior year, which obviously couldn't happen. We have made arrangements for Sunflower Studios to do Socially Distant Senior Portraits.
Unfortunately, with the new guidelines, we are not able to utilize Sunflower's Tux's, Drape for pictures as the students would all have to be sharing, and the photographers too close. While it is slightly different from how we have done things in the past, we are also excited about the opportunity for the students to express themselves a bit.
Instead students should wear the following:
Navy Blue or Black Blazer
Collared white shirt
Choice of tie
Off the shoulder or v-neck dress shirt (or dress) in solid black or navy blue.
Cap and Gown will be provided.
Please use the link to make your appointment.
Your child chose a portrait at their sitting. It is the one on their school ID. If you want to change that choice, please contact sunflower directly by 10/31/21 at (845) 708-5010.
As we start preparing for an action-packed, fun-filled Senior year, I am so excited to announce my co-advisor Ms. Schneider!! Ms. Schneider brings a track record of 15 years of class advisor experience to the role. She is creative, positive and a whirlwind of energy. She is a fantastic addition to our team!!!
If you see her around school, welcome her to the Class of 2022!!
Have a fabulous summer everyone! Next year is going to be AMAZING!!!!
Take care and stay safe,
Mrs. Olinsky and Ms. Schneider
aka "The Dream Team"

UNDERGRADUATE PHOTOS- 2020-2021
Thank you for being so supportive as we try to get things around the school back to as “normal” as possible. This year, with all its obstacles, has created so many new and unique situations and you have all adapted very well.
This year, we have also had to make some changes to the Underclassmen School Photo Schedule. We were originally scheduled for 2 days of photos, which has had to become 5 to accommodate all cohorts. Please see the table below to see what day your child(ren) take photos.
BA M-Z B Day Gym Schedule Thursday 10/1
BB M-Z A Day Gym Schedule Friday 10/2
AB A-L B Day Gym Schedule Tues 10/6
ALL REMOTE Saturday 10/10 Click HERE to schedule
AA A-L A Day Gym Schedule Monday 10/26
**Wednesday 10/10 has been made available for students who are remote learners and may want a school photo and id.** This Link is for ONLY FULL REMOTE Students https://sunflowerappointments.as.me/?appointmentType=17219734
Retakes will be added, but not available until late November, Early December. With the uncertainty of the year itself, we recommend not counting on retakes. Please plan accordingly to have your child take their photo on the first round as shown below, especially because they may need their school id to take exams like SAT or PSAT. Senior Retakes etc coming soon.
Ordering will also look different this year. In lieu of bringing in envelopes, you will be asked to order online to eliminate the passing of materials back and forth. Students will take their photo in their Physical Education Class.
Click the link to order now: https://myproimages.com/sunflower-portraits/282
Event Code: O1J8C
Must pre-order by: 10/30/2020

Hi Class of 2022!
Please read the attached Google Doc regarding Student Council Elections:
I hope everyone is doing well, and that you were able to enjoy the beautiful weather this past weekend.
This is such a strange and challenging time for everyone. To try to help, Wednesdays will be devoted to Pearl River Wellness Day for Staff and Students! Mrs. Canals, Dr. Turco, and Ms. Martens set up a google classroom, "Wellness for your Mental Health", to provide additional support for our staff and students.
Each week, new skills, tips, and coping strategies will be discussed and reviewed. Additionally, the clinical staff will be available live from 1pm-2 pm to answer any questions and /or have group discussions. There may also be surprise speakers that join us during that time!
Come join the classroom at the following class code: f5l66ou.
Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well during these very challenging times.
The high school administration would like student input on the grading for the 4th quarter. Please complete this survey!
Thanks and stay well!
In these tough times we would like to preserve as much of our school events and spirit as possible. So, while we can’t spread our school spirit in person, there is no reason as to why we should let these unfortunate events keep us from showing our spirit at home! We would like students and faculty to join in on our at home spirit week, and we would like to use our new Instagram account to broadcast our PR Pride! Please follow us at pirates.pride on instagram. Send your photos to your class officers or to Mrs. Sutton and we will post them on the instagram!
The days we have planned for next week are:
Monday: Super Hero Day
Wear your capes and superhero gear! Let's honor the hospital workers, first responders, grocery employees, truck drivers, essential personnel and all who are working and helping the rest of us through these difficult times.
Tuesday: Groutfit Day
Wear all gray head to toe in honor of making this our last gloomy day.
Wednesday: Pirate Pride Day
Time to show your pirate pride since we all miss actual school when we could see all of our friends and teachers and in honor of the seniors not being able to enjoy their last semester of high school.
Thursday: Jersey Day
In honor of our favorite sports teams that aren’t able to play right now.
Friday: Pajama Day
Time to sport your quarantine chic!
