Airbrushing 10/20/30 (3 credits)
Prerequisite: None/10/20
Airbrushing is a 3-credit class for students who love to design, create and draw. Through hands on learning, students will learn the basic skills of painting with an airbrush. Specifically, students will learn how to prepare different types of surfaces for painting. This course offers students the opportunity to explore their artistic side.
AutoBody 10/20/30 (3 or 5 credits)
Prerequisite: None/10/20
AutoBody is a 3 or 5 credit class designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge, experience and learn practical hands-on skills. The main focus is the outside body of the car with exploration of the mechanical systems. Students will learn skills such as how to change a tire, how to remove a fender and painting techniques in our state-of-the-art paint booth. Learning opportunities include lab work and customer car projects.
Design and Metal Fabrication 10/20/30
Prerequisite: None/10/20
Learn how to cut, twist, bend and shape metal. This 3-credit course focuses on designing and building a project out of metal. This hands-on course is supplemented with independent study and group lecture presenting fundamental principles and terminology of metal fabrication. Course content includes surface preparation, metal finishing, metal bending, Hazardous materials, workplace ethics, leadership and shop maintenance.
