About Me

Hello, All! Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

My name is Ashley Michelin and I teach Honors Biology and Forensic Science at Westlake High School. I am also a member of the NGSS mentorship team for the district, helping teachers incorporate NGSS into elementary science lessons. This is my fifth year of teaching overall and my second year here at Westlake High School. I am originally from New Jersey and previously taught at Madison High School in Madison, New Jersey. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Rutgers University and my Master of Arts in Teaching from The College of New Jersey.

On this website, you will find some general information about the courses I teach. Digital copies of assignments and further instructions on each assignment can be found on Google Classroom. Students must be logged into Google Classroom with their CVUSD email address to access these resources. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! I look forward to a great school year with all of you!

What Do We Do?

In this course, you will begin to become familiar with the most important aspects of current biological theory, methodology, and research. Our class will focus not only on scientific knowledge, but will give you an opportunity to develop your understanding of the scientific process, scientific practices, and current issues related to the field of biology.

Important Course Information

Students should make sure they are enrolled in our Google Classroom and signed up for Remind to receive important course information. If students are absent, they should check the Weekly Agenda on Google Classroom to see what they missed.

Forensic Science

What Do We Do?

Forensic science is the application of science to analyze evidence to solve crimes.
