Product Integration - Weekly Usage Recommendations:

Student Usage: 150 minutes per week

Student Progression: The recommended model for MATH 180 is 45-50 minutes of instruction daily to build conceptual understanding and fluency with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and integers through a carefully sequenced and paced progression of content. Instruction is organized into nine blocks of instruction.

Teacher Engagement: The MATH 180 Blended Learning Model is flexible and smart and is designed for daily use in regular class period. It allows technology to provide adaptive instruction and gives teachers the tools to do what they do best-build reasoning and elicit student thinking. Instruction begins with a whole-class Do Now activity to help students warm up, approximately 5minutes. Classroom management routines encourage thinking, inspire mathematical habits of mind, and make connections to prior topics. Students break into two groups and rotate between group instruction and the personalized software, spending 20-25 minutes in each rotation. In group instruction, the teacher focuses on building conceptual understanding, developing reasoning and communication skills, and interpreting student thinking. The personalized software adapts to the needs of each student, providing added support and practice for those who need it and accelerating those ready to move on.
