Student Usage: 225 minutes per week
Student Progression: System 44 motivates struggling readers to track their ongoing reading growth and engage in individualized skill practice. The Software uses adaptive technology to customize and scaffold individual skill practice and application in phoneme manipulation, word recognition, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, writing, and fluency. Throughout the program's sequence, the Software offers consistent and targeted support and feedback with nonjudgmental and individualized coaching. Background videos in the Software help students build mental models of new concepts before reading an informational passage.
Teacher Engagement: The System 44 Model for Blended Learning gets students reading, writing, speaking, and thinking critically every day. The program, based on more than 15 years of research and results, is designed for daily use by a small class (10-12 students), with students rotating between the software and Small Group Differentiated Instruction or Modeled & Independent Reading. System 44 can be used effectively during a regular class period, in a resource room, and in after- and summer-school programs.
