Welcome to second grade at Reagan Elementary!

Here are your second grade teachers:

Kelly Brode graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 2002 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She received her Masters degree in Elementary Education from Texas State University in 2004. She taught first grade for 3 years at Tobias Elementary in Kyle and 11 years at Laura Welch Bush Elementary in LISD. This will be her 3rd year at Reagan Elementary and she is looking forward to the upcoming school year!

Julissa Cook

Julissa is from a small South Texas town called Weslaco. She comes from a family of educators, which is why she loves the world of teaching. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Texas State University and is certified for grades EC-6. More recently, Julissa expanded her passion for reading by earning her Master's Degree in Literacy from Concordia University. After 6 years of working for RRISD, Julissa chose to move closer to home and family. She is over the moon to join the Reagan family!

Christie Foux earned her Bachelor's Degree from Southwest Texas State University. She previously taught second grade in San Antonio's Northside ISD for three years. She then moved to Austin and taught second grade at Kathy Caraway Elementary in Round Rock ISD for 12 years. She joined the Reagan first grade team in 2016 and is excited to begin her 19th year teaching in second grade!

Gina Freeman graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and her Master's Degree in Special Education. She taught second grade for seven years and first grade for two years in Lake Travis ISD before taking some time off from teaching to stay at home with her children. In 2016, she returned to teaching first grade at Reagan and looped up to second grade last year. This will be her 13th year teaching and she is incredibly excited about the year ahead with her students and Reagan family!

Amber Howard received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Southwest Texas State University-San Marcos, TX. Eat ‘Em Up Cats!!

She began her teaching career in her hometown of Houston, TX. In 2009, #TeamHoward packed up to move to Cedar Park, where Mike opened up Vandegrift H.S. and Amber, too, landed a brand new elem. school (Reagan Elem). She has taught kindergarten (9 years), first (1 year) and second (5 years). Amber is looking forward to entering her 16th year of teaching.

Jennifer Morgan has been teaching since 2005! She taught 1st grade for 7 years along with teaching Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and led 3 schools as the Gifted and Talented (Quest) teacher. After participating in a Study Abroad program in New Zealand, Jennifer graduated from Texas State University in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2008, she earned her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University. Teaching is her passion! She loves being a Reagan Ray!

Michaela Wood grew up in the Dallas area. She then moved to Stephenville where she graduated from Tarleton State University with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She just recently moved to Leander with her fiancé. She was a Long Term Substitute for fifth grade at Reagan last semester. She is so excited to be back at Reagan this year!
