If your child will be absent, a phone call is not necessary.

All absences must be reported in writing by a parent or physician within 2 days of a student's return date to school. All absences are documented as "Unverified-Unexcused" absences until written verification is received by the school attendance office. Upon receipt of written verification, the "Unverified-Unexcused" absence will be updated accordingly.

*Emails are accepted to report an absence. However, the email must be generated from the email account(s) listed on the emergency contact information of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

All notes/emails from parents/guardians should include the following:

1. Full legal name of student

2. Student’s ID number

3. Student’s grade level

4. Date(s) of absence/Current date

5. Reason for absence *A reason must be listed; without a reason the absence will be updated automatically as "Unexcused".

(All the above information can be added to documentation from a medical provider)

*Original medical notes are not required; a scanned image or photo is acceptable.

Submitting a hard copy note: It can be dropped off at the attendance window during school hours, as well as in the front office with the receptionist.

Absence Alerts:

Students arriving to class more than 10 minutes late (or without a pass from a staff member) will receive an "Unexcused" absence for that period. *This includes initial arrivals.

Parents will be notified by the district of student absences for each class period missed.

If you receive an alert that your student has been marked absent and feel this was in error, please contact the teacher directly by email. Absences cannot be changed without verification from teacher(s).
