What Is ESL?
The ESL program is designed to develop competency in English. English Language Instruction, ESL, is a program which provides intensive instruction for the student in listening, speaking, reading, comprehending, and writing in English.
WHO SHOULD BE ENROLLED IN AN ESL PROGRAM?
All Students Prekindergarten through high school who speak or hear another language other than English in their home and have difficulty in English are eligible.
HOW CAN PARENTS BE INVOLVED IN THE ESL PROGRAM?
Parents are invited to inquire with the principal or ESL teacher about becoming a member of the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee, LPAC, that makes recommendations on how ESL students should be taught.
Parents can volunteer for classroom activities.
