I was born and in San Diego, California, and spent most of my life there.  This is my sixth year in the Austin, TX area, and my fifth year at Henry.   

From a young age, I was always taking things apart--and usually breaking them.  My favorite word was 'why?'  In other words, I have always loved science.

I have a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of San Diego and a master's in education.  

This summer, I got married! My husband Shane and I had an amazing honeymoon cruising around the Mediterranean.

I have two children. My son graduated from Southwestern University in 2022 with degrees in history and political science.  After graduation, he joined the Army and works in military intelligence.  My daughter Anne graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 2025 with degrees in mathematics and  international affairs.  She is attending Boise State University this year to pursue  a master's degree in mathematics.  I also have a Russian tortoise.  She lives a life of leisure and spends her days eating, sleeping, and digging in the dirt.
