Off-Campus PE

All about PE in middle school...

Texas Law requires that middle school students must participate in a minimum of two years of physical activity. This activity may be physical education class, athletics, cheer, dance, drill team, or color guard. In LISD, students will be required to participate in a physical activity class in the 6th-7th grade.

Off-Campus Physical Education (OCPE)

2024-2025 OCPE Application Deadline to apply is 4 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2024. Please note that the form must be completed while the student is logged in on the Leander ISD google account.

In accordance with local district policy, a school district may award up to four high school credits and/or three middle school credits for physical education for appropriate private or commercially-sponsored physical activity programs conducted on or off campus. In LISD, students in grades 6-12 may apply for Off Campus PE.

Applications for OCPE will not be accepted without using a vendor/instructor from the Approved Vendor List.

What if my provider is not an approved vendor? If a student is applying for OCPE and is using a vendor that is not on the list, it will be the student and the instructor's responsibility to become an approved provider of OCPE. This process will not be initiated by the district.
