About the teacher

This is my second year teaching engineering at GHS previously I was taught in the math department.   I have a Mathematics degree from the University of Wyoming and a Math Teaching degree from Minot State University in North Dakota.

Originally I am from Minnesota but I've lived in the Austin area for the past 14.5 years.

I've lived in Wyoming, North Dakota, Turkey, South Dakota, Ohio and Texas.

This year I was hired to be an assistant coach in track.  I competed in track in high school and I watch a lot of pole vault.  My son is a pole vaulter.

My hobbies include running, weight training, knitting, and Peloton.

Tutorials:  Because of the nature of our assignments, if I am in my room a student may come in and work on their assignments.  My schedule will change when track starts in January.

Project Lead the Way

PLTW Engineering Courses Offered at GHS:

PLTW Engineering is more than just another high school engineering program. It is about applying engineering, science, math, and technology to solve complex, open-ended problems in a real-world context. Students focus on the process of defining and solving a problem, not on getting the "right" answer. They learn how to apply STEM knowledge, skills, and habits of mind to make the world a better place through innovation.

Course Content

All of the PLTW Engineering course content will be available for students to access through the myPLTW website.
