Students explore a variety of powerful tools (like drawing, voice recording, taking videos, and more!) to show what they know in the way that works best for them .
While Seesaw provides a rich library of content, sometimes the best student work comes when they click the Add button and create on their own!

Teachers can scaffold and support emerging readers with passages that can be read aloud to them with word-by-word highlighting - allowing students to make powerful connections between spoken and written words.
Reduce distractions and align activities to the developmental needs of students with Focus Mode. Select which tools students will engage with.
Capture and auto-score students’ reading. Educators can analyze student data to tailor instruction and meet their students’ diverse needs. This does not take the place of running records or other district assessments.
Flexcards offer greater customization and variability in activities. These digital flashcards can contain text, images, audio, or a combination of all.
Formative Assessments are lightweight assessments that teachers perform daily to quickly gauge student understanding as the class progresses through a unit. Combine time saving auto-grading with the power of multimodal tools to get deeper insights into student learning to target support and guide instruction.

Issue
Some users may experience issues when using Seesaw with their Smartboards. For instance, when using Present to Class, multimodal tools may not perform as expected on the Smartboard.
Solution
Use the Seesaw web application on your Smartboard rather than the Seesaw app. This should allow all multimodal tools to function as expected.
Use Highlights to capture students' best work for conferences, Student Portfolios, and more! The highlights folder is easily accessible from anywhere you access folders in Seesaw. You can also view all Highlights in Journal feeds. When assigning activities or when creating student posts, you can choose to add work to the Highlight folders. Students can later download their Highlights folder and use the content in a Portfolio of Learning!
Find classroom tested activities for Seesaw by grade level, subject/content area or by collections. Teachers contribute activities that include student examples to the Seesaw library. Download an activity to engage your students while maximizing your time.
