iPads

The best troubleshooting tip for iPads is a hard restart:

Press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo appear.

Apps for Student iPads:

    • Never download apps using an Apple ID or personal account on any student device
    • Use the Self Service app to download approved apps on the iPads
    • Search to find out if an app is already approved or not approved here
    • Approved apps: If they are not available to download, submit a ticket for your campus tech to work with engineers to make the app available.
    • New apps not yet approved: Complete the digital resource request form to request approval.

iStation App on iPads:

  • If the iStation app doesn't work properly (i.e. the app opens, but there are no log in fields), delete it and reinstall it from Self Service:
    • Click and hold the iStation app icon to delete it
    • Open the Self Service app
    • Scroll down to iStation
    • Click the “Reinstall” button and wait for it to install

Closing iPad Apps:

Did you know that every app used on an iPad will continue to be open even days after it was last used? This will drain the battery life on your iPad. The more open apps you have running in the background, the faster your battery will drain.

To quit an iPad app, do the following:

  • Press the home button twice.
  • You will see open apps appear as smaller windows.
  • Swipe up with your finger over the app window to quit an app.
  • Swipe up on each individual app window to quit them all.
