Akin School Counseling Department
About the School Counselor
Hi Akin Aviators! My name is Beth Lehn and I am so excited to help children succeed at Akin Elementary! This is my 14th year in Education, and my 10th year as an elementary school counselor. Prior to joining the Leander ISD family, I worked in Round Rock ISD. I am excited to be here with you and look forward to a great year! I absolutely love working with children and helping them find their strengths and develop into leaders. Akin is full of student leaders!
I am originally from Port Isabel, Texas (right by South Padre Island), but have lived in the Austin area for 18 years. I attended St. Edward's University (Go Hilltoppers!) for my Bachelors and Texas State University (Go Bobcats!) for my Master's degree.
I look forward to a great year at Akin Elementary (Gooooo Aviators!)!
About the School Counseling Program
Akin's School Counseling program is designed to help children find success in school by promoting academic, career personal and social, development.
My services include classroom guidance lessons that teach skills in three domains as recommended by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national standards: academic, career, and personal-social. I also work with students individually or in small groups to focus on problem-solving and student success. Another important role is meeting with parents and teachers to provide consultation or collaborative services for student planning. And last, but not least I am also the 504 coordinator and STAAR campus coordinator here at Akin!
Please feel free to let me know if I can be of any assistance to you or your child.

Individual referrals to the school counselor may be made by the student, a parent, or by school staff and administration by using the form below. School counseling services do not constitute or substitute for professional therapeutic care.
Students may stop by the counseling office during the school day. Parents may call the counseling office to schedule an appointment or a phone conference. Matters of urgency will be given priority.
