Welcome to my teacher website!

My name is Miriam Otero and I am the resource specialist teacher at LCE. This is my 12th year teaching students with special needs and my sixth year working for LCUSD. 

I started my teaching career as a 2012 Teach for America corps member serving in a low-income community.  I also have experience teaching with the District of Columbia Public Schools and Los Angeles Unified School District. Over the course of my career, I have earned a Master's Degree in Special Education from Loyola Marymount University and a Master's in Education from Columbia University. 

In my spare time, I like to read, watch shows, bake, and spend time with my family. I am a fan of the Dodgers, LAFC, and Lakers. I love pizza, doughnuts, chocolate, and dogs. 

I am very excited to see all students in person and more importantly, I am looking forward to helping all students succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.
