Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! My name is Mrs. Thomas, I will be your 8th grade science teacher. This is my ninth year teaching 8th grade science at General Sherman Junior High and my second year teaching Project Lead the Way Design and Modeling. Class periods 5th and 6th will be a co-teaching class, meaning you will have two teachers. Mrs. Reynolds, will be the Intervention Specialist for 8th grade science. This is her tenth year at Sherman.

What will we be learning?
Ohio’s 8th grade science standards include three branches of science: Earth, Life, and Physical Science.
Earth Science focuses on the physical features of Earth and how they form and change.
Life Science focuses on reproduction and genetics.
Physical Science focuses on forces and motion .
Near the end of the school year, students will take a state test to assess their deep understanding of the content standards. We will work very hard every day this year in Science. Your attendance at school and/or virtually is important, please make school a priority
