We use SC Discus as our source for databases. SC Discus is South Carolina's virtual library and contains many databases to use for research. Access to SC Discus is free for all South Carolina residents. When accessing SC Discus at school, a username and password are not required. However, when you access SC Discus at home, you are required to enter a username and password. Please see the media center staff for the username and password to SC Discus.
The ABC-CLIO databases were purchases for teacher and student use. ABC-CLIO is widely recognized for its high-quality reference of history and general interest topics. The databases that ILHS has access to include World Geography, US History, World History-Ancient to Medieval, and World History-Modern. To access at home, you can log into your Destiny account using your Google information or you can login with the username/password that your librarian gave to you.
