6TH GRADE READING
Sixth Grade Math
Teacher: Debbie Williams
Supplies: 3 inch three-ring binder
ISN (Interactive Student Notebook)
Assessments: Grades will be derived from a variety of quizzes, tests, and projects. Quizzes and classwork will count as one grade, while projects, research, and major tests will count twice, depending on the amount of time and effort required.
Grade Sheets: Graded work will be sent home periodically so that parents can see the kind of work their child is doing in class. Signatures of parents will be required to indicate the parents have actually seen and reviewed the work.
Homework: Homework will be given on an as-needed basis and is expected to be completed. However, students are expected to ready their library book and review notes in the ISN every day, so parents should check for this each night.
Make-up: Make-up work is the responsibility of the student and must be completed within two days of returning from an absence. You can call the school in order to get assignments while the student is out of school.
Reading Tutoring: Reading tutoring is held every Tuesday morning starting at 7: 30 a.m. If your child is having a problem with homework or anything pertaining to reading, tutoring is available.
Having lived in Lancaster County all my life, I am familiar with the Lancaster area and the families that make up this area. Also, having taught school since 1975, I have taught many children and their parents. In 1975, I began my teaching career at Buford Elementary. In 1987, I took a position where I taught 8th grade English, and three years later I began teaching middle school math and have maintained that status until this year. This year I will be teaching 6th grade Reading and am looking forward to a very productive school year. The schools where I have taught are Buford Elementary, Erwin Elementary, South Middle, and Buford Middle.
