Alexander the Great

The king Alexander the Great was born on July 20th B.C. in Pella, in the great city states and in the Ancient Greek Kingdom. He was born into a royal family to King Phillip ll and Queen Olympia. Alexander completed his education at Meiza in 340 B.C. A year later, still a teen he became a soldier and embarked on his first military expedition against the Thracian tribes After the death of his father, Alexander age 19 was determined to seize the throne of his deceased father by doing anything necessary to become the leader. Queen Olympia helped her son do this by slaughtering Phillips daughter and pushing Cleopatra to suicide. He also became the king of Persia, Babylon and Asia and created Macedonian colonies in the region. Alexander's mother was a strong role model for him as a boy but he grew up to resent his father .Alexander the Great was king of Macedonia from 336 to 323 B.C. During his time of leadership, he united Greece, reestablished the Corinthian League and conquered the Persian Empire.
