Principal's Weekly Update
Dear Dominion Trail Parents,
We are super excited to have a themed week next week. It is "Huskies Make Healthy Choices" week. Please encourage your child(ren) to participate in the following ways.
Monday: Huskies will make the healthy choice to have a positive attitude about yourself. Identify at least one strength that you have.
Tuesday: Huskies will make the healthy choice to eat and drink in a healthy way. Drink plenty of water and think about the food choices you are eating; do they have plenty of nutrients or too much sugar?
Wednesday: Huskies will make the healthy choice to be kind to others and unite against bullying. Wear orange and/or your orange ribbon to unite in kindness and sign the Unity Day Pledge across from the art room and counseling office. Think about why you wear orange?
Thursday: Huskies make the healthy choice to be physically active; being physically active is healthy for both the mind and body! Be sure to complete one form of physical activity today such a jumping jacks, yoga, taking a lap around the track, or playing a sport during recess or at home.
Friday: Huskies make the healthy choice to feel gratitude or to feel thankful for someone or something in their life. Think about someone or something you are thankful for and write or draw it on the "Thank You Pumpkin." If you write a person on your pumpkin, feel free to give that to them as showing gratitude is healthy for both you and the person that you are thankful for!
Don't forget to scroll down and review this week's life lesson! This is an important one!
I hope you all have a great weekend.

Life Lesson #7
Each week we challenge the students to practice some important life lessons that teach civility, manners, and build community. We hope you will place extra focus on each lesson in the week to come.
If you are asked a question in conversation, you should ask a question in return. If someone asks, “Did you have a nice weekend?” you should answer the question and ask a question in return.
#6 If you win or do well at something, do not brag. If you lose do not show anger. Instead, say something like, “Great game” or don’t say anything at all.
#5 If someone in the class wins a game and does something well, we will congratulate that person
#4 Make Eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him or her at all times
#3 Respect other students’ comments, opinions, ideas, and beliefs.
#2 When responding to any adult, you must answer by saying "Yes Ma'am" or No sir."
#1 When you greet someone new, look them in the eye, offer a firm handshake, and introduce yourself.
Want to reward your performer with some beautiful roses? Save yourself time and pre-order roses and pick them up at school on opening night of the musical. Order roses online.
