Student Government

Student council association (SCA)

The SCA supports and encourages school spirit through the organization and implementation of activities that benefit the Heritage student body. SCA members are responsible for events such as Homecoming, Pep Rallies, Spirit Weeks, Mr. Heritage, Awareness Week, etc. Emphasis is placed on leadership within the school community and support of Heritage High School’s vision and values.

SCA Advisory Board Expectations

1. SCA members are expected to hold themselves to the highest standards of conduct, both in and out of the classroom.

2. SCA members must be enthusiastic participants in all SCA activities and must prioritize SCA projects and events.

3. SCA meets during A3, and members must be willing to forego a study hall to participate.

4. SCA Membership is via an application/interview process conducted each May.

Student Council Association

Each school is authorized to establish a SCA that is duly elected by, and representative of, the student body to provide opportunities for experiencing the responsibilities of self-government and participation in the management and operation of student affairs. The SCA of any school shall establish, with approval of the principal, election procedures and qualifications for office that provide opportunities for representation of the student body.

The purpose of this organization is to maintain cooperation between the student body and the faculty or administration, to promote leadership and responsibility, and to train the students to the principles of self-government. This organization shall be the student representative body of the school.

Class Office

Class officers represent each class and are responsible for planning events for their peers, collaborating with other Heritage clubs and organizations, fundraising, and exhibiting school spirit.

Officers are elected annually, usually in May, for the following year. After graduation, class officers are responsible for organizing class reunions.

Class Office Expectations

1. Be a model student at all times.

2. Uphold Heritage Pride Behavior, the Dress Code, and all other school rules.

3.Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and reflect a serious approach to education.

4. Attend school on a regular basis and do not incur any disciplinary difficulties (Student's Rights and Responsibilities).

5. Although you don't have individual titles, you are part of a committee and are each responsible for working together collaboratively. Pull your own weight for the benefit of one another.

You face removal from office if you are suspended, breach the Honor Code, or skip school or class.
