Spiritual Life Committee

What an exciting time to be at LCCS! I am beginning my 21st year of teaching at Lake Country. However, I first came to LCCS as a 7th grade student. I graduated from LCCS in 1993 with amazing memories from my involvement in the Fine Arts Department (band, choir, musicals, handbells) and the Athletics Department (State Final Four in Basketball 2 years, Volleyball Manager, Cross Country), as well as being academically prepared and graduating as Valedictorian of my class. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX where I received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education) with a minor in English, certified as an ESL teacher, and a Texas State Teaching Certificate. The Lord brought me to LCCS to teach beginning in the fall of 1996 as one of the 3rd grade teachers. Those 4 years in elementary, I also was a part of the coaching staff for JV/V Girls Basketball and 1 year as the Softball Coach. Since then, God has taken me on quite a journey here at LCCS. In addition to those positions, I have taught English 1 and English 3 Honors, World Geography, World History, and Bible 1 (New Testament), Bible 2 (Old Testament) and Bible 4 (Senior Survey). I also served as the Missions & Community Service Coordinator for 12 years, leading 27 mission trips, and as the Student Council Sponsor for 12 years. I spent several years as Assistant to the Secondary Administrator, using my administrative gifts to help things run smoothly in the secondary building. After a 2 year gap while working at our church, I am back for the third year to teach in the Bible Department part time. I also serve on the Spiritual Life Committee, planning all things related to the spiritual life of our students (chapels, retreats, missions trips, service opportunities) and helping to oversee the Bible Department alongside Mr. Hall. I have a passion for seeing our students connect with the Lord and grow in their walk with Him. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have. I am here because of and for each and every one of you.
