So...why doors?

We believe that doors can enhance the user experience. Doors can serve as gateways to new areas as it creates a sense of progression. There is a layer of complexity and engagement when our players are able to finish a specific task and unlock the door into a new room. It encourages them to keep on playing to solve the escape room mystery.

What does Miradia mean?

In the beginning, our team planned on basing Mirage on Alice in Wonderland. Miradia, as a result, is a portmanteau of the Latin word for 'wonderland', 'Mirabilis', and 'arcadia'.

What coding platform did we use?

We agreed on using Pygame as our coding platform in order to successfully program our puzzles the way we visualized it.

Why did we make this game?

Mirage was designed to help Camsopolis Entertainment stay afloat as a company. With the rise of COVID-19, the business took a turn for the worst. With only a budget for one prototype, Miradia was assigned the task to create a 2D virtual escape room game that is viable to kids and families in order to save Camsopolis Entertainment.

What was our team's choice of art?

We used Pixilart and Procreate as they are both easy to learn and use. Pixilart allowed the whole team to draw assets in the game without different art styles clashing and inconsistency. Procreate also provides more detail to the drawings.
