About Music at St. Patrick
St. Patrick Elementary has a vibrant music program that strives to support children in discovering their creative selves through singing, movement and playing instruments. We are fortunate to have a violin program for all students in grades 3 to 6.
Starting as early as kindergarten, students explore and discover the basic elements of music such as; steady beat, rhythm, dynamics, pitch and tempo. They learn to create, compose, listen and engage with music in a variety of ways.
In cycle 1, the students have the opportunity to play pitched and un-pitched percussion during music class, which is incorporated by using an Orff approach to music. Click here to learn more.
Miss Jen and Ms. Ashley work closely to ensure that all students receive a well-rounded music education.
Mr. Blake teaches music from K-2 and Miss Jen teaches music to grades 3, 4, 5 & 6.
